MISSISSIPPI HOOP REPORT 2024-2025 COACH OF THE YEAR AND ALL-STATE TEAM

PRESENTED BY

Coach of the Year

Tony Tadlock – Raymond

Despite having won four state titles in seven years and finishing with the number one ranked team in the state last season, Coach Tadlock had never been named Mississippi Hoop Report coach of the year. And to be frank it was because all those teams were very talented and were expected to be playing for the state championship. And while anyone who has coached will tell you meeting expectations is one of the hardest tasks any coach can face, there always seemed to be someone who got more out of their team than expected and/or overcame a bumpier road lifting them to coach of the year. Well, this year the coach who got more out of his team than anyone expected is Tony Tadlock. Having lost everything, and I mean everything, off last year’s state championship and number one ranked team, the Rangers came into this season unranked and with very low expectations, from everyone but Coach Tadlock and his players. Coach Tadlock likes to say that at Raymond they have a culture that breeds success and that they play for the name on the front of the jersey not the individuals, and this year he really stated his case as the Rangers kept playing better and better as the season rolled on and finished up winning 14 of their last 15 games as Coach Tadlock and the Rangers took home a sixth state title in the last nine years, and state championship number five for your Mississippi Hoop Report 2024-2025 Coach of the Year, Tony Tadlock, HE’S GRREEEAAATTT!!!
